A Current Affair - Thank you

Many of you would have seen the release by A Current Affair:

I would just like to thank everyone for the amazing support we have received. We have been battling for close on a year now and it is reassuring to know that the Australian public is as outraged as we are about what is happening on Keswick Island.

It is a slice of paradise and Australia should place more value on the pristine beauty of its natural environment. Someone recently asked on Facebook "Where is Keswick Island?" I loved one of the replies: "Its very, very close to heaven."

Since I began this post, social media has gone out of control. It is amazing to see what an impact our short video had and we are overwhelmed by the level of support from so many avenues. I really believe that this will force the politicians to act.

The ground swell has been enormous and our plight has even reached overseas - UK, America, Germany, India and Italy.

Along with all the positivity comes a puerile attempt at retribution. One of the residents on the island, who has been active in highlighting the issues on Keswick, has decorated this casuarina tree for the last 12 years. There is a picnic table near by and the spot has been enjoyed by multiple guests and residents who frequently meet there to watch the sun set. It is a beautiful shared space.

Following the massive media launch this week, the tree was cut down. Another resident noticed a large truck (owned and operated by Island Management) drive past their house on Friday 4 Dec with a single tree on the back. They did not realise at the time that it was THIS tree.

What this demonstrates is an example of the mentality of the Island Management who have consistently resorted to extreme bullying tactics. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the bullying of the Head Lessor and that entertained by the Island Management.
